“Never one to care much about shooting a commercial-perfect photo, Jay Halsey’s photographic focus for the past few years is more concerned with creating cinematic atmospheres that conjure stories of a simpler yet more surreal West that spread a bit wilder, if not a little grittier, just decades ago. He attempts to capture those dying glimpses that are now contrasted with evidence of man’s grasp on the Eastern Plains and Front Range of Colorado by taking road trips, and getting his work boots and camera as dusty as they can stand.

It is the honor of Still Cellars to announce the opening reception of our new photography exhibit, “We Build Roads to Escape the Roads We Build”, by the local brilliant, Jay Halsey. Come you and yours (all ages welcome!) on SATURDAY, JUNE 7th between 4 P.M. and 8 P.M. to meet the artist, be stunned by his work, have a snack while they last, and introduce yourself to your neighborhood distillery and arhouse and their fine organic spirits.

The show will be up through June and into July and is for sale. Peruse Halsey’s photography snippets at http://500px.com/Jay_Halsey.
